StopWatt Reviews™ 2026: Does It Really Work or Is It a Waste of Money?
We looked past the ads, the countdown timers and the "55% off" banners to answer one question: will this little white box actually cut your power bill?

What StopWatt claims
Plug it into any outlet, wait for the green light, and the box supposedly "stabilizes current" and "reduces wasted power", promising lower bills with no change to your habits.
What the science says
Devices like this are typically small capacitors for "power-factor correction". That matters for factories billed on reactive power, but home meters bill only real energy in kWh. A single box at one outlet can't reduce what your fridge, AC or heater actually consumes.
The good
- ✓ Truly plug-and-play: takes 5 seconds
- ✓ Compact, tidy design
- ✓ Advertised money-back guarantee
- ✓ Low cost of a single unit
The bad
- ✕ No independent proof of bill savings
- ✕ Permanent "limited-time" discounts
- ✕ Upsells to 2–3 units per home
- ✕ Green LED is not a sign it's working
What it costs
Official site prices at time of review. The "original" price appears to be permanently crossed out.
1 StopWatt
800–1,200 sq ft
$108.89 $39.69
2 StopWatts
1,200–1,500 sq ft
$217.78 $79.38
3 StopWatts
1,500+ sq ft
$261.33 $95.26

Final verdict
Probably a waste of money.
StopWatt is easy to use and nicely packaged, but there's no credible evidence it lowers a household bill. Spend that $40–$95 on LED bulbs or a smart thermostat instead; you'll see the difference on your next statement.
FAQ
Will StopWatt lower my electric bill?
Homes in the US are billed for real energy (kWh). Power-factor correction devices like this mainly affect reactive power, which residential meters don't bill. Independent tests of similar boxes have found little to no measurable savings.
Is it safe to plug in?
Treat it like any cheap plug-in gadget: look for a genuine UL/ETL listing on the unit itself, never leave it in a damaged socket, and unplug it if it gets warm.
Can I get a refund?
The seller advertises a money-back guarantee. Keep your order email and packaging, and check the return window and shipping-cost terms before buying.
What actually saves electricity?
LED bulbs, a smart thermostat, sealing drafts, smart plugs to kill standby power, and running big appliances off-peak. These have measurable, documented savings.
